The QS Higher Ed Summit has become a landmark event for leaders in the Asia-Pacific higher education community. The Summit 2023, which was just concluded, was participated by more than 1000 of university leaders, executives and policymakers from around the world. They discussed hot topics in higher education and promoted cooperation and exchanges.
The year 2024 will be the 20th anniversary of the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific. Macau University of Science and Technology will serve as the host of this event. This will also be the first time for the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific holding in Macao. Associate Vice-president Aliana Man Wai Leong completed the handover ceremony on behalf of M.U.S.T. and delivered a speech at the Closing Ceremony of the Summit.

In her speech, Associate Vice-president Aliana Man Wai Leong expressed her appreciation for QS and the support of the central government after Macao's return for the rapid development of Macao’s higher education. The outline of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was released. It specifically proposed that Macao should build a high-education talent hub and promote educational cooperation among the three places. Based in Macao S.A.R., which is a world center for tourism and leisure, M.U.S.T. has always been committed to assisting in the internationalization of Macao's higher education, fostering cooperation with internationally renowned universities, and enhancing the image of Macao as an international city. M.U.S.T. is honored to successfully bid to host the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2024, which takes place during the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland. It is of great significance in promoting the internationalization of Macao's higher education and fostering the cooperation between higher education institutions from all over the world and Macao.

Prof. Aliana Man Wai Leong also said that Macao is a city that integrated Chinese and Western cultures. It is safe, livable and hospitable.
