Cultivate High-level Talents in the Field of Leisure Management! M.U.S.T. Launches New PhD Program in Leisure Management
Macau University of Science and Technology officially received registration approval from the Macao SAR government on July 17, 2024, and launched the program of Doctor of Philosophy in Leisure Management. Enrollment for this course begins in the fall of the 2024/2025 academic year, and online application is accepted from now until August 12, 2024, while vacancy lasts.
The development of the leisure and health industries has received more and more attention. Macao has multiple advantages in developing the leisure and comprehensive health industries. With the goal of building Macao into a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, the demand for high-level talents in the field of leisure management continues to increase, and the development prospects of this type of talents are promising. Macau University of Science and Technology makes full use of its own advantages, adapts to the development of the times, and combines social needs to offer a doctoral degree program in leisure management, aiming to cultivate high-level talents in the field of leisure management for the country, the Greater Bay Area and Macao. The establishment of a doctoral degree program in leisure management will further increase the scientific research and international academic exchanges of M.U.S.T. doctoral students in related fields.
School of Liberal Arts was established in 2020. It is committed to be a large-scale characteristic faculty with high international standards in the region and interactive development of industry and academia. This program is under the "Hospitality & Tourism Management" discipline. According to “2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects” by Shanghai Ranking, M.U.S.T ranked 40th in this discipline, which shows that this program is a world class program.
