The School of Liberal Arts of Macau University of Science and Technology held the 2023/2024 Academic Year Advisory Committee Meeting on June 12, 2024. Members of the SLA Advisory Committee who have attended this meeting include Prof. Aliana Man Wai Leong, the M.U.S.T. Associate Vice-president for International Affairs and Dean of SLA, Prof. Van Iat Kio, President of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau, Mr. Chan Ka Leong, member of the Executive Council of the Macau S.A.R. and Vice President of Escola dos Moradores de Macau, and Dr. Jones Chao, Vice President of Human Resourses of SJM Resorts, S.A., Mr. Jorge Valente, President of Sino-Luso Industry and Culture Exchange Promotion Association (Macao), and SLA Faculty Secretary Mr. Kou Chon Fai. Mr. Ao Pak Loi, member of the M.U.S.T. University Council, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Prof. Aliana Man Wai Leong, Dean of M.U.S.T. SLA, talked about the current development and future plans of the SLA. She said that the number of papers published by the faculty has increased exponentially, and students have received scholarships from many large institutions. Many graduates have been admitted to top 100 universities in the world. She then introduced the new doctoral program which planned to be launched in the new academic year. It aimed to cultivate more professional talents for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and promote future development. The chairman and members of the SLA Advisory Committee unanimously recognized and affirmed the achievements of the SLA and fully supported the launch of the new SLA doctoral course. They hoped that the faculty can continue to promote the development of courses in more fields, so as to cultivate comprehensive professional talents. It will help meet the demand for talents in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
