From May 1 to 4, 2024, Prof. Aliana Man Wai Leong, Associate Vice-president of Macau University of Science and Technology and Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, and Professor Zhao Xinyuan of SLA, went to Istanbul, Turkey, to participate in the 5th Conference on Managing Tourism Across Continents (MTCON), and were awarded the Best Presentation Award. The theme of this year’s MTCON was Tourism for a Better World. This conference was organized by the Association of Turkish Tourism Academic (TUADER) with the support of many top universities in Turkey. It attracted more than 300 tourism management scholars from all over the world, including the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal and South Africana. Prof. Aliana Man Wai Leong and Prof. Zhao Xinyuan introduced their academic research results and had in-depth exchanges with scholars from all over the world with an open mind to learn from each other. They have also expanded academic ties, expanded the influence of Macao Tourism Research, attracted more scholars' interest in Macao Tourism-related topics, and established a number of research cooperation projects, resulting in a good impact. The paper presentation of Prof. Aliana Man Wai Leong and Prof. Zhao Xinyuan was highly affirmed by the participating experts and scholars, and was awarded the Best Presentation Award, which fully reflected the academic level and positive outlook of tourism research in M.U.S.T.
