Prof. Aliana Man Wai Leong, Associate Vice-president of M.U.S.T. and Dean of SLA, and Mr. Kou Chon Fai, SLA Faculty Secretary, went to Nansha District, Guangzhou for investigation on December 11, 2023. They visited the Guangdong Medical Valley and Nansha International Talent Zone and had discussions and exchanges. Zhang Jiabing, member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Organization Department of the Nansha District Committee; Zheng Xiang, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Nansha District Committee and Director of the Talent Development Bureau of the Nansha Talent Development Zone; Gao Xinglin, Deputy Director of the Talent Development Bureau of the Nansha Talent Development Zone; and the person-in-charge of Nansha Talent Development Company participated in the investigation.

Afterwards, the delegation visited Guangdong Medical Valley and was warmly received by the CEO Xie Jiasheng and Pan Xinghua, professor and doctoral supervisor of Southern Medical University and founder and chairman of SequMed. CEO Xie introduced in detail the development history of Guangdong Medical Valley and the cultivation results of the biomedical innovation industry. The delegation visited well-known enterprises stationed in Guangdong Medical Valley International Talent Station, Amcare Lab, etc. Prof. Pan introduced the development of SequMed and exchanged views on in-depth cooperation with Macau University of Science and Technology in medical tourism and interdisciplinary fields.

The delegation visited the Nansha International Talent Port. They have listened to the overall introduction of Nansha's talent work and learned in detail the latest talent policy information of the "Nine Measures for Gathering Talents in the Guangzhou Nansha International Talent Zone".
At the discussion, Deputy Director of the Nansha Talent Bureau Gao Xinglin introduced the work and results of talent collaboration in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, and discussed the "Talent Collaborative Development Partnership Framework Agreement" and the "Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Talents Collaborative Office Capacity Expansion Work Plan” reached between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Talents Collaborative Development Office and M.U.S.T. SLA, aiming to achieve more fruitful results in promoting the collaborative work of talents from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and continue to empower and increase the efficiency of high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It will also provide students from M.U.S.T. SLA with more internship and employment opportunities in large companies.
